Heart of Ellsworth, a Main Street America community located in Ellsworth, ME, is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting downtown Ellsworth’s economic and cultural vitality through concentrated efforts in the areas of design, organization, promotion, and economic revitalization.

We are currently searching for a Marketing Coordinator to join the Heart of Ellsworth team!

Heart of Ellsworth, a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote artistic, cultural, economic, educational, environmental, and historical activities in the downtown district of Ellsworth, is seeking a Marketing Coordinator. This year-long part-time contracted position is partially funded by the Maine Office of Tourism - Tourism Marketing and Development Recovery Program and will play a key role in implementing marketing, public relations, and promotional strategies for the downtown business district, tourists, and residents. Responsibilities will include creating content for marketing materials, managing calendars, coordinating the distribution of communications through print and digital formats, and liaising with contractors, media, and community partners. 

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in a communications or marketing role, is initiative-taking, highly organized, and possesses project management, writing, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience with Google Docs and Microsoft Office is necessary. Familiarity with email marketing software, graphic design, website, and social media platform management is desired. Availability to participate in some night and weekend events is a must. Experience working in the nonprofit sector is a plus. 

This yearlong opportunity offers 15 to 20 hours per week with potential for additional hours and permanent employment. Hybrid work options, flexible work schedule, and professional development opportunities. $25-$30 an hour based on experience.
