ECONOMIC IMPACT STUDY OF THE UNION RIVER
what’s the study for?
Together with Union Salmon Association, Frenchman Bay Conservancy, Downeast Salmon Federation, and support from Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce, we have retained One Water Econ, and HUB Collective, to evaluate the economic benefits of restoring the Union River’s ecological functions, including creating fish passage and stabilizing lake levels. By exploring various scenarios and their potential outcomes, we can inform more socially, economically, and environmentally optimal options for the future of the Union River, ultimately contributing to the well-being of the greater Ellsworth community. Join the conversation or follow along to learn more.
We aim to explore how an alternative future for the Union River could drive economic growth and achieve better outcomes for people in Ellsworth and throughout the Union River Watershed.
