Janice Buckingham
TREASURER
Janice grew up in Washington County and moved to Ellsworth in 1996. Ten years after graduating from Narraguagus High School she went to work at the University of Maine at Machias. Taking advantage of the benefit of two paid tuition classes a semester she was able to earn a BS in Accounting over the course of 10 years. She has work experience in both the for profit and non profit sectors and credits having a couple outstanding mentors that have helped her grow her career. She worked at Child and Family Opportunities as bookkeeper, accountant and Finance Director. Their funding came from a number of federal and state grants so she is hoping she can bring her experience into the Treasurer position of Heart of Ellsworth. In March she retired from 18 years as Office Manager at Merrill Blueberry Farms and is enjoying having time to pursue life on her terms.
