DOWNTOWN MAP REBOOT

Who doesn't love maps, right? They're so beautiful and fascinating. We don't really know anyone who can resist looking at one that they pass by, whether it's a place you’ve never been before or a very familiar place like downtown. Part of the fascination is that we hope, even if it's a map of a familiar place, that if we look long enough and look close enough, there will be some kind of a secret there that we haven't noticed before!

To learn more about the downtown map and all we have in store for residents and visitors this year, read the Mainebiz article below. And don't forget to download a map or stop in any shop or eatery to pick up a postcard!

We extend a special thank you to Witham Family Hotels and Downeast Graphics for supporting the 2022 Downtown Map project.

FRANKLIN STREET PARKLET REOPENS!

We are so excited that the City of Ellsworth’s Franklin Street Parklet is back for community enjoyment. Master Gardener and Heart of Ellsworth Board Member Amy Reisman has stepped up in a big way this year with recommendations on layout, greenery (shrubs and trees) and woman planting power that will ensure this community space thrives. By creating this downtown oasis they showcase our Main Street district! Thank you to the City of Ellsworth and community members for making this park possible for residents and visitors to enjoy!

The trail behind the Ellsworth Public Library will be transformed into an accessible path for visitors and residents to enjoy thanks to a partnership with Frenchman Bay Conservancy with current community partners including Heart of Ellsworth, Green Ellsworth, Ellsworth Garden Club, and the City of Ellsworth. The trail will start at the lower library parking lot and travel north along the Union River to an ADA-accessible overlook.
