We will host our beloved Taste of Ellsworth event in a new way this June! Starting on June 4, we invite you to celebrate our hard-working and innovative eateries by creating your own “dining adventure” guided by our month-long promotion of past Taste of Ellsworth partners. Follow Heart of Ellsworth on Instagram and Facebook for the month as we profile the cuisine that makes downtown Ellsworth a tasty place to visit! We encourage you to safely dine-in, take out, repost, and support each of our eateries during this month and year-round. Please use these hashtags in your posts! #tasteofellsworth2020 #eatinellsworth

ZOOM Check-ins Move to Bi-weekly
Our next meeting is Friday, June 12 from 12-1:00pm.
We have partnered with Machias Savings Bank to support our Main Street business community during these trying times. Our weekly ZOOM check-ins connected community leaders with small business owners and together we identified opportunities and creative solutions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you to all participants for your dedication and tangible outcomes!
As Main Street reopens we will switch to a bi-weekly schedule and continue our joint effort. If you'd like to catch up on past meetings, visit: heartofellsworth.org/covid19
If you are interested in joining our mailing list that includes a ZOOM meeting invite please email cara@heartofellsworth.org

Boost your immune system and get outside to exercise!
Woodlawn’s trails were built as exercise tracks for the Black family’s horses, and later automobiles were driven on them. Today they are used for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, running, and walking. Benches are provided near the peaceful lily pond and other locations for rest and contemplation.
We hope you get out safely and enjoy this monthy series of Ellsworth's trails.
Thanks to a Federal Highway Recreational Trails Program Grant from the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Harbor Park is seeing an extension of the wandering concrete path walkway. The expansion of the existing walkway/trail from the Marina through the Harbor Park will end at the driveway to the City’s pump station. Photo Credit: Heart of Ellsworth BOD member Nate Hanson
Thanks to a generous grant from the Maine Community Foundation, we are partnering with the Ellsworth Historical Society to bring you images of Ellsworth’s past. By highlighting historic downtown locations and events, we aim to foster a present-day pride and connection to our Main Street community. We invite you to visit ellsworthme.org/ellshistory/ and encourage your support of the Museum in the Streets project and archival work of the society.
“The Queen Anne style brick building that sits just above the Ellsworth Public Library, home to Hancock County sheriffs and their families from 1885 to 1978, is again at a crossroads. Controversial but profoundly historic, unless Ellsworth groups, private investors, the County, and the City itself partner on its behalf, the building may be lost.” - President of the Ellsworth Historical Society Bill Fogle
Heart of Ellsworth remains focused and committed to economic growth through projects in the urban core.
Our vision seeks to fill storefronts on Main Street, secure a location for the Winter Farmers Market, develop the Union River waterfront with green space along the river, and identify and assist in the creation of more downtown housing options. Collectively, these enhance opportunities for both visitors and community members to enjoy all that Ellsworth has to offer.
Your contribution ensures that we can remain committed to these goals. We appreciate your support!
